Dates for Summer Strings 2008:
The summer course lasts for
4 days. The
concert will take place in the Museum on the last day at 7.30pm. The
pupils will then be free to go home with their parents at the end of the
concert. (at approx. 9.30pm.)
Monday 4th - Thursday 7th August
There will be a
display of new and restored stringed instruments by Mourne Strings from 9
- 10.30am on Monday 4th and 6 - 7.30pm on Thursday 7th.

Venue:
Ulster Folk Museum, Cultra. Since 2002 this has been the home of
Summer Strings. Accommodation for residential students is provided in the
Main Street of the reconstructed Victorian "town" which is situated in the
beautiful parkland of the museum. The teaching, rehearsal and dining
facilities are all situated in the same complex. This venue is also ideal
as there are security guards patrolling 24 hours a day. |

Students:
Prospective students should be aged between about 8 - 20 and should be
playing at a minimum of Grade 2 standard.
